About Ritual and Rivalry
Founded by Geoff McGehee
Ritual and Rivalry was founded by Geoff McGehee, a lifelong sports fan and customer-marketing leader who believes one of the best ways to understand a culture is through the games, rivalries, meals and rituals that matter to its people.
After years of professionally developing customer journeys—and traveling in search of memorable sporting and local experiences—Geoff began shaping a different kind of travel company: one built around small groups, unusual events, local hosts and stories travelers would never find on a standard sightseeing itinerary.
Ritual and Rivalry is currently validating its first pilot journeys, beginning with a proposed Orkney experience built around the Kirkwall Ba’.

Our Story

We believe that the truest stories are told through the rhythm of the game and the ritual of the crowd. Our founder-led narrative is built on the belief that sport is a language of culture, history, and local pride. We don't just travel to destinations; we travel to the heart of the ritual, where centuries of rivalry meet the raw energy of the local table.
Our Philosophy
We believe travel is a form of cultural exchange. Our trips are built on respect for local traditions and the stories that connect us to the world.

What We’re Building Now
Right now, Ritual and Rivalry is focused on laying the groundwork for its first journeys and future travelers.
Validating the first pilot departures
Building relationships with local operators and cultural insiders
Confirming access, logistics, insurance and pricing
Testing traveler and industry interest
Developing a broader collection of unusual cultural sports journeys
